The Galactic Center

In celebration of the International Year of Astronomy, NASA has made spectacular images of our galactic center available to the public. AHML is the only location in the northwest suburbs that was selected as a site for the display of two very large photos of our universe.

Come see them for yourself. The photos are located on the east wall of the Library behind the large type shelves. If you think you know what our Milky Way’s core looks like, prepare to be surprised.

Learn more about how these amazing images were created in this short video created by our staff.
