Thinking of getting an eReader this holiday? Here are some things you might like to know:
You can check out a Nook, Kindle or Sony Reader from the Library for two weeks to give them a test run.
You can come to the Library's Welcome Desk to try them out and talk to staff members about the features of each. For questions about eReaders, call the Welcome Desk at 847-506-2640.
The Library has eBooks that you can download for free from My Media Mall on our website. The eBooks are compatible with most eReaders except the Kindle. Click here to learn more about which eReaders are compatible with My Media Mall.
In January you can drop by the Welcome Desk on Saturdays from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. to learn how to use your eReader to download the Library's eBooks

Did you know that the Library has eReaders that you can check out? We have Kindles, Nooks and Sony Readers that can be checked out for two weeks (except for the Kindle DX). Each eReader has titles preloaded for you to read. The Kindles have either popular fiction or nonfiction titles, and the Sony Readers and Nooks have both fiction and nonfiction titles on each.
To find out what titles are available, check our catalog under eBook Reader to get a listing. To check one out, pick up a case on the "Just Arrived" shelves located near the Welcome Desk and take it to the Checkout Desk. Before you leave the Library, be sure to stop at the Welcome Desk for some quick instructions to get you started.
