Community Scholarship Applications Available

Applications for the Mayor's Annual Community Scholarship are available at the Library's Reception Desk on the second level. The scholarships are for Arlington Heights residents who would like to change careers or who need additional education to keep moving forward in their careers. The deadline for submitting the scholarship application is Friday, July 10. You can learn more about this program and get an application online at the Village's web site, www.vah.com, under "Village News." Or call 847-368-5100 to have one mailed to you.
Managing the Emerald Ash Borer

Evidence of the Emerald Ash Borer's infestation can be seen throughout Arlington Heights. Scott Schirmer, Plant and Pesticide Specialist with the Illinois Department of Agriculture, will discuss new research and the possibility of preserving your neighborhood's trees through the village's COSTSHARE program. Dru Sabatello, Arlington Heights Forester, will present an update on the status of EAB in Arlington Heights.
