Bringing Your Story to Life

Come learn how the library can help you tell your story. Local author Paula Burzawa will talk about her experiences using library resources to write her novels. Then staff member Alex Hoffman will demo the tools available in the Studio and show how to use them to capture your family history or personal story. An optional open house of the Studio will follow.

Building Suspense in Fiction Writing with Author Libby Fischer Hellmann

Award-winning Chicago crime thriller author Libby Fischer Hellman will share her insights into the different elements of crime writing fiction, with a focus on how to build suspense into your work. Attendees will participate in a variety of exercises and discussion. Libby will also talk about her own writing career, why she chose crime fiction, as well as a recap of her suspense, thrillers and mysteries. A Q&A session will close the program.
