2008 Volunteer Awards

Volunteer of the Year - Cindy Viti

Cindy VitiCindy Viti is our Volunteer of the Year. This is a one-time award that is given to the volunteer who has contributed the most hours during the year and who has not previously received it. It is being awarded to Cindy for her contribution of 562.5 hours during 2008.

Cindy began her volunteer career at the Library as a worker for a two-hour shift at a book sale. But she soon found herself getting more involved. Beginning in August of 2003, she picked up the task of desensoring books being donated for the sale. The next step for Cindy came when she accepted the responsibility for a row of books. She is in charge of the Computer books, Antique books and books on Collectibles. Her favorite part of her sorting tasks is just seeing all the different types of books that are being donated for the sales. Cindy truly enjoys her work in the Sorting Room – the books, the people and the fun that they have together.

In her spare time, Cindy enjoys gardening and bowling.

Thank you, Cindy, for all your hard work on behalf of the Arlington Heights Memorial Library, its patrons and the greater Arlington Heights community.
