It's done! It took only four months to completely index the 1940 US Federal census. Now you can search by name. Here in the library, go to Ancestry Library Edition from the database list and start searching for your ancestors!
If your ancestors spoke French and came from France, Belgium, Luxembourg, or Quebec, research help is available. The genealogy volunteer on duty every Thursday evening has Belgium/France heritage and can help you with your research or even translate a document. She is regularly there from 7 - 9pm, but please call ahead to make sure she is on duty. Merci!
