AHML Volunteers: Making a Difference for Our Community

Since the library's volunteer program began in 1979, more than 500,000 hours of service have been contributed by this special group of individuals. "Volunteers: Adding Value on Both Sides" [1] is an article published in the December edition of the Illinois Library Association's Reporter.  Written by our Volunteer Coordinator Caryl Medsker, it highlights many of the ways our volunteers make a difference every day.

As Caryl explains, "Our volunteers have made it possible for us to become a five-star library, offering programs and services to our community that would not be possible if we were to rely on paid staff alone. They make the Arlington Heights Memorial Library a truly special place."
