DESIGNING THE LIBRARY FOR YOU
Thank you for your continued patience as construction progresses on our service and space improvements, slated to be completed this spring. The library is being used differently these days and more and more, residents see it as a place to gather, learn and create. We have some exciting new features in place already, so drop by to see all the ways we are designing the library for YOU.
The Marketplace - A.H. cardholders can check out an expanded collection of new and popular books, movies and music. Visitors can also relax in the comfortable vending café nearby.
Fireplace - Relax and read a book by the cozy fireplace generously funded by the Friends of the Library.
Training Center - A.H. cardholders can participate in any of the free Tech Skills for Your Life classes held in the new state-of-the-art Training Center.
Info Desk - You can always seek assistance at the new Info Desk, located near the Marketplace, but you will also see staff in areas throughout the library ready to help you find what you need.
The Studio - Get creative with video, music, graphic design and more in the newly-designed Studio. Funded by the Friends of the Library, this digital media lab is the perfect place to try out the latest technology or to learn from our experts with one-on-one assistance.
No Property Taxes Raised for the Renovation
No Arlington Heights property taxes were raised to fund this renovation. This project was budgeted for over a period of years and in fact, library budgets in three of the past four years were prepared with a 0% increase over the previous year’s extended levy.
