Last week was National Karaoke Week. Yes, I missed it too. Karaoke is over 40 years old. (Karaoke History) But you can get your groove on anytime with karaoke CDs from the Library. These CDs have the vocals stripped from remixes of your favorite songs. Some CDs allow the lyrics to play on a monitor or TV (if your CD player is hooked up to the TV) as the music plays. Just have fun or get your voice in shape for any vocal auditions for the Fall. Karaoke CDs

It was in the evening on April 18th, 1775 when Paul Revere and others rode to warn the patriots that the British had just landed at Cambridge. Most of what the general population remembers about the ride came from the poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow called The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere.
Listen my children and you shall hear
Of the midnight ride of Paul Revere,
On the eighteenth of April, in Seventy-five;
Hardly a man is now alive
Who remembers that famous day and year.
Read the poem and the myths and facts about the poem at the Paul Revere Heritage Project website.
April is Poetry month. Enjoy!
