Book Discussion for ESL Students

Open to all literacy and ESL students. You will receive a book to check out for the discussion when you sign up in the ESL/Literacy Office.

ESL Collection

We have more than 2000 items for English learners and new adult readers, including books DVDs, CDs and electronic media.

Read to Learn

One-on-one reading sessions for all English-speaking adults who are learning to read and/or developing reading skills. New classes begin in the spring and fall. All classes are held in the Hendrickson Room.

  • Tuesdays 9:30 a.m.–noon, February 9-April 27
  • Wednesdays 7–9:30 p.m., February 10-April 28

A donation of $10 per class for materials is requested. Requirements:

  • You must attend the first meeting date shown for the class you have selected.
  • No advance registration is accepted.
  • Students will be tested at the first class session and will be notified if they are accepted for the class.
  • Enrollment decisions are based on skill level and available openings.
  • Returning students may be given priority.

Computer Learning

Computers and software to help you improve and practice English on your own, at your own speed. Topics include:

  • Pronunciation
  • Business English
  • Reading, grammar and writing
  • TOEFL preparation
  • American culture

One-on-One Conversation Practice

  • Provided by volunteers
  • Available by appointment
  • Improve your conversational and reading skills
