Public Services

The library offers a number of public services for Arlington Heights residents.

Notary Public Service

Beginning January 1, notary service will no longer be available at the library. If you require this service, contact the Reception Desk, 847-392-0100, for a listing of nearby locations that offer it.

Voter Registration

You may register to vote at the Reception Desk on the second level any time the Library is open. Registrations are not taken in the 28 days before an election. To register, you must be:

  • A U.S. citizen
  • At least 18 years of age
  • A resident of the precinct at least 30 days prior to Election Day
  • Please bring two forms of identification (with at least one showing your current residence address) with you when you come to register

Small Electronics Recycling

All donated items are tax deductible. Forms will be on the bright blue bin near the Checkout Desk. Accepted Items include:
  • Cell Phones
  • Laptops and eReaders
  • Inkjet Cartridges
  • MP3 Players
  • Digital Cameras
  • Handheld Games
  • GPS Devices and Radar Detectors
  • Graphing Calculators
  • Gold, Silver, and Platinum
Appliances, computer monitors/towers, printers are not accepted.

Proctoring Service

A proctoring service is available by appointment for Arlington Heights Memorial Library cardholders only. There is no charge for this service. Appointments are avilable 9 a.m.–5 p.m., Monday–Friday. For proctoring service, contact Debbie Halpin, in the Library’s Business Office, 847-506-2611.
