Senior Services
We offer a wide range of programs, services and materials especially tailored for the 55+ audience. Programs and classes are offered to seniors free of charge at the library, on the bookmobile and at the Arlington Heights Senior Center at 1801 West Central Road. Computer Room
The Computer Room is located in the Senior Center. Computer workstations are equipped with large-print keyboards, 19" flat-screen monitors, the latest version of Microsoft Office, and high-speed Internet access.

Monday and Wednesday: 12:30 – 6 p.m.
Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 12:30 – 4 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m. – noon
Reading Room
The Reading Room is located at the Senior Center. It contains a collection of popular books (including the latest books available in large print), DVDs, CDs, and audiobooks, all available for check out. Relax and read an assortment of specially selected magazines and daily newspapers in a comfortable reading area.

Assistive Devices
The library offers a number of assistive devices for use in the Library. These devices are available free of charge.
Events at the Senior Center
A variety of weekly and monthly facilitated discussion programs offer older adults a way to connect with those who have similar interests. Topical programs of special interest to seniors are also offered throughout the year.See calendar of Senior Center Events.
Library Visitor Program
If you are permanently or temporarily homebound, the Library can deliver books, DVDs, CDs, and audiobooks to your home each month. Click here to enroll or call 847-870-3712 for more information.
We also visit Moorings Healthcare, Manorcare and Lutheran Home biweekly with books and movies for residents. For more information, call the Library at 847-870-3712.
Senior Computer Classes
Classes taught by seniors and designed especially for adults over 50 are held at the Senior Center. These classes feature step-by-step instruction and limited class size of eight. Students can choose from more than 10 courses quarterly depending on their skill level.
