Children will learn how to interact safely with dogs and how to read canine body language. Therapy dogs will show off skills such as jumping through hoops, playing musical instruments and bowling. For ages 4 and up.

Ars Viva and the Music Institute of Chicago are pleased to introduce Music for Life - a family music experience. Drawing on an interdisciplinary curriculum that includes drama, musical creation, creative movement, storytelling, and visual arts, Music for Life’s philosophy is that music is best understood through experience as well as context. After listening to an excerpt from Beethoven’s 6th Symphony, children will be led in an exploration of the music they just heard. For school-age children and their families.

New Shelving in Kids' World
Our new picture book bins at the Library make browsing easy for your little one. The books are shelved low, with their covers facing out. Bring your child to the library and let him do the “shopping.” Children love choosing their own books! Even very young children show a preference for certain types of books.
