The book Cinder, by Marissa Meyer, was a story based off of Cinderella, but with a very different twist.  Cinder is a cyborg living in 150 T.E., a distant future after W.W. 4.  She lives with her stepmother and two step sisters in New Beijing, in the Common Wealth.  Her parents died when she was young in a serious accident, she survived by being turned into a cyborg.  She works a a mechanic to support her family.  One day while at work Prince Kai comes to her with an andriod from the palace that needs to be fixed.  From this moment her life spins out of control.  The king dies of leutmosis, a deadly dease with no cure, her sister catches leutmosis, she is drafted to be a test subject to find the cure, but finds out she's immune, the lunars, a country on the moon, are planning to attack the Earth, and much more.  Cinders once normal life is turned completely upside down.

 

The book Cinder is a very good book.  It is fast paced and full of action from the first page to the very end.  The author includes many mysteries in the book; it seems that finding that answer to one mystery leads to an even more shocking mystery.  It also includes a possible romance between Cinder and the prince making the book even more interesting.  My only problem with the book is the ending.  The book ends in a very exciting point with a lot of open ends.  It seems like there should be a second book to tie everything together.  Other than that this book was one of the best books I have read."  Review by Emily
