Join us for a special screening of The Public, which examines the role of public libraries as it relates to the homeless populations they serve. Written and Directed by Emilio Estevez and starring Alec Baldwin, Rhymefest and Christian Slater, the film follows downtown Cincinnati librarians Stuart Goodson (Emilio Estevez) and Myra (Jena Malone) who see their regular winter day shaken up when homeless patrons decide to take shelter in their library for the night, escaping the bitter cold. Rated PG-13; 122 minutes
The screening will be followed by light refreshments and a discussion with local organizations who serve people experiencing homelessness, including JOURNEYS | The Road Home and Northwest Compass.
