Planning individual and group visits

Individuals

Using the space and equipment is free for customers ages 12 and older. Download and fill out your Makerplace usage waiver before you visit and return it to the Makerplace, Checkout Desk or drive-up window. You only need to do this once. Taking a culinary class? Download the Kitchen waiver here. All users must sign a waiver before using equipment. 

Groups

For groups of five or more, please call ahead so that our staff can plan accordingly . Teachers, scouts and youth groups can submit a form to set up their visit. Users must be 12 years of age or older to be in the Makerplace without a caregiver. Users under the age of 12 and vulnerable adults must be accompanied and monitored at all times by a caregiver. All users must adhere to all Arlington Heights Memorial Library policies, including the Makerplace – Public Use and  Code of Conduct

A signed waiver is required for each person using Makerplace equipment 
 
To use any equipment during your visit, you will need to bring a signed Makerplace usage waiver for everyone in your group. Use of select equipment and tools requires staff assistance to operate. Equipment is available on a first come, first served basis unless a reservation is made in advance. Arlington Heights Memorial Library cardholders can request to reserve select equipment at the Makerplace by calling the library at 847-392-0100. Cardholders can book equipment up to one week in advance.
