LitCrate

The library offers a book subscription box for adults, teens and tweens. LitCrate availability is limited. For Arlington Heights cardholders only. 

LitCrate for Adults

Next Registration Date: Monday, June 1, 9 a.m. for the August, October and December sessions. Pickups begin the first week of August.  

When you register for a session, you will receive a personally curated box, every other month for 6 months (3 boxes total).

How to Register

  1. Register on the library’s online calendar or by clicking the sign up button.
  2. Head to your confirmation email and fill out the form to let library staff know your reading preferences.
  3. Once we receive your registration form, we will choose a book we think you'll love and pack it into a crate with surprise goodies for you to keep.
  4. You will be notified when your LitCrate is ready to pick up. Don't worry, the book will still be a surprise! Check out your LitCrate using your library card.
  5. Read and return the book, keep the goodies and reuse or recycle the box.

  • Winter Session: December 1
  • Spring Session: March 1
  • Summer Session: June 1
  • Fall Session: September 1

  1. Fill out the registration form to let library staff know your reading preferences.
  2. Once we receive your registration form, we will choose a book we think you'll love, pack it into a box with surprise goodies for you to keep and get it ready to make its way to you!
  3. You will be notified when your LitCrate is being held for you to pick up around the first of the month. Don't worry, the book will still be a surprise!
  4. Read and return the book and box, but keep the goodies!

  1. When registration opens, enter the lottery by registering on the library’s online calendar.
  2. Those who are randomly selected will receive a confirmation email containing a link to the registration form.
  3. Complete the form letting library staff know your reading preferences. Once we receive your registration form, we will choose a book we think you'll love and pack it into a crate with surprise goodies for you to keep.
  4. You will be notified when your LitCrate is being held for you to pick up around the first of the month. Don't worry, the book will still be a surprise! Check out your LitCrate using your library card.
  5. Read and return the book and crate, but keep the goodies!
