The Arlington Heights Memorial Library Board of Trustees announced an upcoming trustee vacancy at the September 6, 2022 Committee of the Whole meeting.

The board will fill the vacancy by appointment, and the appointed trustee will serve until the new board is seated in May 2023, following the consolidated election on April 4, 2023. 

Any resident of Arlington Heights interested in being considered for the position should submit a letter of interest with their qualifications and intent to be on the ballot for the open trustee position in the April election, by 5 p.m. on Friday, September 16.  

Three finalists for the trustee vacancy will be selected in closed session at the September 20 Board of Library Trustees meeting. Interviews of the finalists will be conducted in closed session at the library during the board’s October 3 meeting. The board plans to vote on naming the new trustee at the October 25 meeting. 

Applicants may submit materials via email to boardvacancy@ahml.info or in person at the library, 500 N. Dunton Ave., Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Materials should be addressed to the Administrative Office and may be dropped off at any service desk or the drive-up window. Only applications received by 5 p.m. on Friday, September 16 will be considered.
