NOTES

Directed by Marc Price

Magpie is a British independent film about an absent young father (Tony) who returns to town in order to attend his 9 year old, shark-obsessed son's funeral with 2 friends (Phil and Craig). His glaring failure as a parent makes his presence an unwelcome one, especially with the boy's mother (Emily) who struggles with her loss and the lack control she has over the funeral arrangements. Tony discovers that his son's obsession with sharks may have come from a shark-related birthday card he picked up for the boy's 6th birthday. Unable to remember picking up the card, his influence leads him to deduce that a burial at sea would be more fitting for the boy
