Dwayne L. Merry, narrator

All roads lead to Rome. Dr. Merry takes you, the viewer, on the ancient roads throughout Italy and into the "Eternal City" - Rome - showing you the Italy of today as well as her monuments of past glories. Dr. Merry examines sites of the mysterious Etruscans in central Italy and the magnificent temple ruins of the ancient Greeks in Sicily. He takes you to Florence and its art treasures, to the canals of Venice and to the glass factories of Murano. You'll get a close look at the fishing fleet of Chioggia and the men who bring tons of fresh fish to the markets daily. From the top of Mount Vesuvius, you'll look down on the ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum and then visit these "time capsules" of first century Italian life. Many of the statues, mosaics and personal items have been taken from there to the museums of Naples, another stop on this photo journey through Italy, from Lake Como in the north to Brindisi in the south and to the island of Sicily
