Allegany County was established in 1789 and is truly one of America's historic transportation and industrial centers. The images presented here portray this heritage and were selected with care from the author's collection of several thousand postcards. The book features Allegany's towns and communities, downtown business scenes, residential areas, industries, historic buildings, churches, schools, hospitals, floods, parades, coal mining, railroad stations, and historic and natural landmarks.
