Sue was born in Essex and has lived in Kent and Dorset. She studied in Canterbury for a Bed (Hons) and later, an MA. A retired English teacher (now a tutor) with three grown-up children, she lives in South London with her two, rather spoilt, ginger cats. She says, "I remember, aged about 6, realising what a metaphor was. I was so excited!" Sue began writing poetry from the age of 8 and loves all aspects of poetry: reading, writing and teaching it.
