Grace's Journey is a fictional account of how everyday life was lived in the early nineteenth century. Without modern conveniences as we know them today, people relied on customs and traditions handed down through the ages. Though it was a life with less complexities as today, there were many hardships and difficult times. People were hardier, worked with the land, and gave up loved ones to diseases, for which cures had not been found.
