NOTES

There is only one Supreme God. God is not Christian, Muslim, Hindu, or Jewish, etc. God who is the Supreme Father is the Father of all living beings. The Supreme Father has many names because He has many attributes, many qualities, innumerable pastimes, and countless incarnations. We can find the Holy Names of the Supreme Father in the various authorized scriptures of the world. The Holy Scriptures all come from Him. This book is a collection of some of His many names, taken from the Bible, the Quran, the Vedas, and the Tanakh. In the following verses, the Holy Scriptures direct us to pray by reciting, repeating, chanting, and hearing the Holy names of God. "Praise ye the Lord. Praise, O ye servants of the Lord, praise the name of the Lord. Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time forth and forevermore. From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the Lord's name is to be praised." (The Holy Bible, Old Testament, Psalms 113:1-3) Tanakh, Ketuvim (Writings), Book of Tehillim (Psalms) 113:1-3) "In this age of quarrel and hypocrisy the only means of deliverance is chanting the Holy Name of the Lord. There is no other way, there is no other way, there is no other way." (The Holy Vedas, Brhan-naradiya Purana 38:126, Bhagavad Gita 6:11-12, purport) "Allah's are the excellent Names, therefore invoke Him therewith." (The Holy Quran surah Al-A'raf 7: 180) "And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the Name of the Lord shall be saved" (The Holy Bible, Old Testament, Joel 2:32) (Holy Tanakh, Nevi'im ( Prophets), Yoel (Joel) 3:5) "Devotional service, beginning with the chanting of the Holy name of the Lord, is the ultimate religious principle for the living entity in human society." (The Holy Vedas, Srimad Bhagavatam 6:3:22) "Say call upon Allah; or call upon Rahman; by whatever name ye call upon Him, (it is well); for to Him belong the Most Beautiful Names." (The Holy Quran surah Al-Isra 17:110) "Our help is in the Name of the Lord." (The Holy Bible, Old Testament, Psalms 124:8) (Holy Tanakh, Ketuvim (Writings), Book of Tehillim (Psalms) 124:8) "There is no difference between the Holy Name of the Lord and the Lord Himself. As such, the Holy name is as perfect as the Lord Himself in fullness, purity and eternity. The Holy Name is no material sound vibration, nor has it any material contamination." (The Holy Vedas, Padma Purana, Nectar of Devotion chapter 12) "He is Allah, the Creator, the Evolver, the Bestower of Forms. To him belong the most Beautiful Names, whatever is in the heavens and on earth, doth declare His Praises and Glory: and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise." (The Holy Quran surah Al-Hashr 59:24) About five hundred years ago, Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu prayed: "O my Lord, Your Holy name alone can render all benediction to living beings and thus You have hundreds and millions of Names, like Krishna, Govinda, etc. In these transcendental Names You have invested all Your transcendental energies. There are not even hard and fast rules for chanting these Names. O my Lord, out of Your kindness You enable us to easily approach You by chanting Your Holy Names, but I am so unfortunate that I have no attraction for Them." (Caitanya Caritamrita Antya Lila 20:9-26; Reincarnation Explained by Jagad Guru Siddhaswarupananda p. 222-224) We have all along falsely thought that we are Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Jewish, or of some other faith, and thus we have created so much enmity and hostility toward one another. As a result, we now live in a world of constant war, chaos, and confusion. A world of fear, divided by walls. A world of unnecessary suffering. This is of our own doing. This is our great misfortune. On the other hand, if we follow the advice of the Holy Scriptures, which advises us to pray by reciting, repeating, chant
