It Never Leaves You is the authentic sharing of Audra's life experience as a childhood sexual abuse survivor, the lessons she learned, and the guidelines she follows to engage in healthy dating and eventual intimate relationships. Audra shares her story with the hope to encourage other survivors to share their stories, the understanding that many survivors feel shame and responsibility for the abuse they did not ask to happen, the belief that life is worth living and the insight that dating as a survivor can be a joyful experience. Additionally, her goal is that those in support roles to survivors may be able to learn how to understand their loved one's perspective to offer support. While childhood sexual abuse never leaves the survivor, Audra offers hope for survivors to learn to cope with their trauma, learn to recognize their triggers, learn to accept yourself for the person you were meant to be, and learn to be happy.
