In the village of Little Wyvern, located in legend-haunted Hammershire County, many residents do not have a pulse. The dear departed far outnumber the living, but that is the way it has always been in England's most haunted village. Will-o'-the-whisps, glowing shapes in the graveyard of St Barnabus and rattling chains at midnight are common. No one fears the dead. Things change, however, when a campaign is started by FOG (the Friends of Ghosts) to make Little Wyvern a premium tourist destination. People begin dying in the most horrible ways. Are the ghosts angered? Are these deaths perpetrated by a vengeful wraith? DCI Arthur Ravyn and DS Leo Stark suspect human handiwork, but while they search for an answer, earthly or ethereal, the body count continues to rise
