When the bones are stolen, in broad daylight, the Italian government requests the aid of the FBI's Historic Crimes division. Doctor Dan Kotler, archaeologist and FBI consultant, joins his partner, Agent Roland Denzel, in a quest to find and recover the bones of Saint Nicholas, and return them to the Basilica. No guns.
