Harold Alston was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended public schools and graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor's degree in banking and finance. He is an Eagle Scout. Growing up with three sisters, he and his wife, Patsy, were blessed with four sons. They are grandparents to sixteen and great grandparents to seventeen. He is active in his church and has held lay positions in every place the air force sent him. While having written numerous short articles about family, historical experiences, and original ideas, this is his first book. After his retirement from the air force, the family returned to Salt Lake City where he currently resides
