A fantastical book written in the early 1980s - an adventure of mythical, magical, mystical and fairy tale challenges by two contemporary couples starting from a holiday in West Africa. In their crazy adventures they come across many other supernatural characters and personalities who jump out of the pages. Reading this book is like dreaming awake. A book in two halves - the first partially a nostalgic visit to childhood reading and childhood itself. The second part is post-apocalypse and involves the journey home and intrigues of a group of characters, including our 'heroes', voyaging to Europe across oceans, ending in a ruined Venice, to live out their lives.
