One year after the love of her life was killed in a freak accident, Liz Barton's best friend is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries of a similar nature as a result of a horrendous accident. During her friend's hospital care, Liz fortuitously meets Dub Wade who becomes her friend, lover, and the second love of her life; but Damon Clark, a jealous ex-suitor, sets into motion a diabolical plot to punish Liz for "dumping" him and Dub for taking his place.
