NOTES

Now for the first time the entire collection of wee stories in one volume with some wee poems thrown in. Children's stories suitable for a wide range of ages. Including How the Herring Became a Kipper, Dunn's Magnificent Idea and The Skeleton Cat.Recommendations:E.L. Parfitt had the most "fabulous, stupendous magnificent idea" when she decided to create a series of 'Wee Stories'. Whether she wrote them in her pyjamas, or not, I'll never know. But you will find out why 'Dunn's Magnificent Idea' is better than television. The book reads effortlessly and fast, and captures the imagination with ease and clarity. I found myself wanting a few illustrations in the style of Quinten Blake or Shel Silverstein to compliment the storyline. 'Dunn's Magnificent Idea' is truly an enjoyable book to read, and soon to be, classic of the childrens literature. (Edward Szynalski)My 5 year old son picked out Skeleton Cat as a bed time story. Without giving too much of the story away, this was a delightful light read and showed how Etheny was able to cope with her mom's passing. This is definitely for older elementary school kids going onto middle school, but my son had no complaints while I read it. (Diana Southammavong)
