A dystopian future about a United States that has been taken over by the White Christian Nationalists and turned into an autocratic theocracy. This first book in the series takes place in 2031, where a former OBGYN doctor of Paklistani origins and a practicing Muslim, is traveling around the country helping people in underground clinics. He provides basic medical care, including abortions. For this, he has a reward on his head offered by the new government for his capture. In the book, he meets up with an old friend, who happens to be a Wiccan and they end up on the run, picking up a couple of other refugees on the way to a safe sanctuary in upper New England
