"I Love Trouble" is set amidst the frenzy of daily newspaper life in Chicago. Hot on the trail of a career-making story, reporters Sabrina Peterson and Peter Brackett indulge in an intriguing odyssey narrowly escaping every danger thrown their way except each other. The two reporters meet when called to the scene of a train derailment. Brackett, a legendary columnist for the Chicago Chronicle, is there by default it has been years since he's acturlly had to cover the beat. Peterson, on the other hand, is overzealous cub reporter, second day on the job in the big city. Though she'd never admit it, she's thrilled to be in the arena with the likes of Brackett. Thrilled or not, Peterson has no problem scooping Brackett. Piqued by being outdone, with his credibility on the line and journalistic instincts rekindled, Brackett jabs back by scooping Peterson. As the rivals unearth evidence of corruption and murder, they also begin to uncover their feelings for each other. Only when the game gets deadly do the two team up. Peterson and Brackett's incorrigible ways and less than above board journalistic instincts prove a constant source of trouble for each other. following their leads, they are catapulted from the remote Wisconsin backcountry to the glitzy neon pulse of Las Vegas, to finally, a harrowing confrontation atop a 40 foot-high catwalk
