How does a boy know when he becomes a man? When he becomes 21 years old? It's a mystery and far too many young African American Males are trying to solve this mystery without a clue. Eonje Right, Jr. (the main character in this novel), who is known to his friends as simply "E"; is typical of the young black men who grew up during the Baby Boom years after WWII, looking for a way to distinguish himself. The characters in this composition are fictional, but they are based on actual experiences.
