West Hollywood. Summer 1977. The first wave of LA's punk rock scene is just taking off as is the career of Sugar Smith, an aspiring punk rock singer. Sugar has just landed a gig with Snake Pit, House band at the famed Viper Den, and the hottest punk band in town. But just as everything seems to be going her way, the murder of Snake Pit's former singer threatens to destroy Sugar's life. She must embark on a desperate quest to find and stop the killer before they can carry out the rest of their plan to ruin her life and the lives of all those she holds dear
