As the countdown to new year echoes around the streets of Edinburgh, Blake Langford is seeking comfort in a bottle of whiskey. His life torn apart by his previous assignment, Blake has shut himself off from the world. When a police spotlight shines on a body hanging from the top of Edinburgh Castle however, Blake discovers that the past still has many unanswered questions. As he travels up to the Scottish Capital, nothing is as it seems and Blake has to fight against his own demons to unravel a murder that happened ten years ago. The only connection being a message telling the victim that they will die. Can one woman's need for closure help catch a killer or has Blake been fooled again?
