The summer after finishing fifth grade, Stephanie Foster is paralyzed in an accident. When sixth grade starts, it's like a whole different world! Stephanie had lots of friends in elementary school, but middle school is like a popularity pyramid, and she's on the bottom. Bullies start teasing her, leaving her mean notes, and even pushing her out of her wheelchair! Stephanie soon realizes that she can't let the bullies get the best of her. She even makes some new friends who make the bottom of the social ladder seem like not such a bad place after all. Along the way, Stephanie even writes her own guide to surviving middle school!
