One spacer, Cade Storm, a young Navajo veteran of the ten system wars, finds a new direction in his lonesome travels among the stars. While drinking Cygnus beer in a sleezy bar on the mud planet, Cygnus 3, a Zacathian female introduces a new path for him. His aimless travels are over, as he stumbles into the war against slavery and piracy after discovering his Beast Master talent and becoming part of a team. Cade shoulders responsibility as the tip of the spear for Space Patrol, in its struggle against slavery.
