The massacre was found the next morning, the sheriff was called organized a posse and a tracker and set off to try to catch the three men but lost the sign and therefore had to give up the chase, the sheriff knew these men had to be brought to justice, as a last resort the sheriff rode out to the Lone Star Ranch headquarters of the Texas Rangers, he told his long time friend the commander of the Texas Rangers, who at once dispatched a Ranger to capture or kill these evil men
