If it walks like a dragon shifter and it talks like a dragon shifter. . . but it cantshift? What then? The entire country rejoiced when, out of a golden egg, Roxana Goldenscales hatched. Its not every day (or even every decade) that a dragona princess graces the earth with her presence. But like most rare, valuable, and defenseless things, every moment of Roxanas existence is supervised, planned, and observed. Or at least, they were. Until she ran away. Her decision to flee from her gilded pedestal wasnt an easy one, and nothings gone quite right since. Her love lifes confusing, her closets cramped (and a little smelly), and her useless, ornamental dragon scales itch constantly. But after finding a group of misfit friends who support her, Roxanas making a life for herselfone that she chooses. As usual, the rest of the world has other ideas. The Manhattan werewolves, the demon-spawn leaders, and Roxanas powerful parents all want her to go back home double quick. Can a helpless princess find the strength to stand on her own? Or will the danger for her friends be so steep that shes swept right back into the very cage she fled?
