NOTES

Collected here are five complete books by one of the 20th century's greatest writers, the legendary Ernest Hemingway. This omnibus contains two of his best-known novels - "The Sun Also Rises" and "A Farewell to Arms" - as well as three collections of short stories and poems: "In Our Time," "Three Stories and Ten Poems" and "Men Without Women." Hemingway first burst onto the literary scene as a short story writer in the mid-1920's but soon began writing novels as well, setting in motion one of the most celebrated careers in American literature, which culminated in his receipt of the 1954 Nobel Prize in Literature. The scope of these stories in this volume is wide; ranging from the cafés of Paris and Madrid to fly-fishing in the mountains of Montana and back again to the battlefields of Italy during World War I. The novels in this collection are considered two of the finest works of fiction written in the 20th century and the short stories feature some of the earliest appearances of Nick Adams, Hemingway's favorite protagonist, who appeared in over two dozen of his short works. Required reading for any Hemingway aficionado, these five complete books are presented here in their original and unabridged format
