THE GIRL BROWNIES - ASHDOWN FOREST, ENGLAND 1919 Book 6 of 6 The Legend of the Forest Guardian The summary of this final book in the series is as follows: As autumn settles over Ashdown Forest, the Girl Brownies encounter strange phenomena-mysterious footprints, disappearing items, and eerie whistling-that locals attribute to the legendary Forest Guardian. Their investigation (complete with flour traps and night watches) culminates in a dramatic reveal: their mentor Mr. Hawthorne has been perpetuating the myth to protect the woods, using clever tricks like oversized footprints and wartime whistling techniques. The girls' final adventure teaches them that true guardianship isn't supernatural-it's the quiet dedication of those who love the forest. As winter approaches, they realize they've become Ashdown's next generation of protectors, carrying forward the spirit of the legend through their own conservation work. The initial opening credit music, "Joyful Journey", which does run to approximately 2 minutes sets the scene, so to speak, recorder, tambourine, guitar and accordion in a folk/classical and cheerful mood. The closing music, "Bloom", ends the tale on with more of the same at about 2 minutes and the same musical instruments etc. but more of an ending feel. The story and music itself runs to just about 35 minutes and is narrated in my wife's voice, Claire, who actually was a ranger guide!
