Piragu tells about the life of a footwear making community (sakkilikkudi) and the various characters and how life goes around for them. Azhagarsamy comes into the village as a leather maker and becomes a part of that village living his life, marrying, having kid, marrying her off, friends, work etc. Through the eyes of azhagarsamy, the author takes you to the kudi where there are some families and traverse through them. Also gives a glimpse of caste system and practices.
