NOTES

This book is not a formal text on the Theory of Calculus. It is intended for those with a background in Algebra and Trigonometry, maybe some basic Calculus, wanting to expand their understanding on practical uses of this powerful mathematical tool. But more importantly, it's an attempt to give students an intuitive sense on how it works and how to apply it, without much concern with formalism, theorems and proofs. Don't expect to see a lot of theory, theorems and rigorous proof of the results shown here; there are many excellent textbooks that cover the formal aspects of Calculus. I will say it again, the intent here is to develop the student's intuition and how to think about Calculus in a practical way. Most students, in particular those in STEM fields, fear Calculus. It's perceived as an arcane and abstract subject, only applicable to equally mysterious and obscure fields of knowledge. It doesn't have to be this way. With this book I hope to show how Calculus has applications in all areas of knowledge and is a reliable friend when tackling some of the most interesting - and practical - problems
