It's a story of my life for the first two plus years when I was first released as a NOT GUILTY prisoner from the Colorado State penitentiary. Where I had been on death row for nineteen months, the rest of the total three and a half years I was in a cell house with two hundred fifty‑four men who were all murderers. Everyone knew I was innocent STILL sentenced by a very racist white judge who told me "BLACK MEN DON'T KILL WHITE MEN" and that I would die in the gas chamber I had indeed killed a prisoner who attempted to rape me at gun point while we were at work in one of the State Reformatory gardens.
