Hashtags are widely used on social media for sharing photographs, life experiences and more with other people, which was one of the key themes in 2017’s One Book, One Village title, The Circle by Dave Eggers. By integrating a hashtag in the title, and calling it “Be in the Circle,” this exhibit aimed to draw attention to the influence and widespread impact of social media as discussed in the book. Moreover, metaphorically speaking, our customers were invited to the “circle” of conversation with one another about the power of social media and their relationship with it.
