They also offer the SPARCS program for anxiety as well as family resources, counseling for family preservation, LGBTQ+ youth and youth with substance abuse issues. Hours are Monday 8 a.m. - 7 p.m.; Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.; Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

HOUSING

The Illinois Court-Based Rental Assistance Program (CBRAP) is open. Click here for more information and to apply. CBRAP provides funding to Illinois tenants and housing providers/ landlords across Illinois who have pending cases in eviction court. Applicants may qualify for emergency rental payments up to $15,000 that can be applied to past due rent, up to $500 for court costs, and up to two months’ future rent to prevent eviction. FAQs

Cook County Legal Aid for Housing and Debt Free legal assistance for Cook County residents who are facing eviction, foreclosure, consumer debt and tax deed issues. The Early Resolution Program (ERP) 855-956-5763 provides free legal assistance for renters facing eviction, small landlords dealing with eviction issues, individuals with consumer debt challenges or past-due property taxes. The Mortgage Foreclosure Mediation Program (MFMP) 855-452-2637 provides free legal assistance to homeowners facing foreclosure. Services include access to a helpline, housing counseling, legal advice, mediation, and referrals to other assistance programs. The MFMP is open to all homeowners of 1-4 unit residential properties in Cook County whose primary residence is in foreclosure.

Coordinated Entry Point To begin services, people who are experiencing homelessness (or are at risk) in suburban Cook County must call or go to an Entry Point walk-in center. 877-426-6515, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday and Friday and 8:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Shelter, Inc. 847-255-8060, 24-Hour Referral Line available 24/7/365. Provides emergency shelter and referral services to youth, adolescents and young adults ages 14-24.

City of Chicago - For those who do not qualify for the above shelter placements: Village of Arlington Heights Social Services can provide a Metra ticket to the city. The individual must then dial 311 from within Chicago city limits to request a bed at a Chicago shelter. The person can wait at a police station or at a Community Service Center. IMMIGRATION AND REFUGEE ASSISTANCE

Court Library Access People who are representing themselves in local civil court cases can visit the Indian Trails Public Library for assistance finding and filing forms or attending court hearings via Zoom. This is a state service offered through a partnership of the Illinois Secretary of State's office, the Illinois Supreme Court and the Chicago Bar Foundation at area libraries throughout Illinois. North Suburban Legal Aid Clinic 847-737-4042, Highland Park. Free legal services for low-income residents of suburban Cook County and Lake County for the areas of housing, immigration and domestic violence. There are no income requirements for domestic violence clients.

Arlington Heights Nurses Club Lending Closet 847-797-5315 Located at the Arlington Heights Senior Center. Loan durable medical equipment such as walkers, wheelchairs, canes, commodes and more. Open 10 a.m.–noon. Tuesday through Friday. Arlington Heights residents only, no age limit.

SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER

The Village of Arlington Heights and various community partners formed the Community Addiction and Recovery Effort (CARE) to assist individuals who are battling with substance use disorder/addiction. CARE will assist all voluntary participants while considering their individual needs.
