When the weather outside is frightful, instantly borrow digital newspapers, magazines, books, movies and more - from home! The library's online newsstand has newspapers and magazines available to instantly borrow via your PC or mobile device using your Arlington Heights Memorial Library card. Read the Chicago Tribune, Wall Street Journal, National Geographic, Sports Illustrated and hundreds more all conveniently located through our online newsstand.

TV shows, movies, eBooks, eAudiobooks and music are also available to instantly download with an AHML library card using services like hoopla and Kanopy. Here is a snapshot of services and some of the titles you can stream and download with no wait:

  • hoopla - eBooks, audiobooks, eComics, movies/TV episodes and music including titles like The Woman in the Library by Sulari Gentill (eBook and eAudiobook), Queens of Mystery (TV show, seasons 1 and 2) and popular music soundtracks from EncantoHamilton and Where the Crawdads Sing
  • Kanopy - Thousands of classic/foreign/independent films, documentaries and educational videos such as Loving Vincent, Hereditary, Memoria, Moonlight, Franklin and Friends and more
  • PressReader- Provides access to over 7,000 magazines and newspapers from around the world in dozens of languages. Sample titles: Chicago Tribune (daily & Sunday), Chicago Sun-Times (daily & Sunday), Hindustan Times, New York, Variety, Rolling Stone, L'Express, The New York Review of Books.
  • Flipster - A smaller, more selective collection of high-interest titles. Sample titles: People, Time, Kiplinger's Retirement Report, Sports Illustrated, Clean Eating.
  • Libby Magazines - Over 3,000 popular, national and international magazines (covering 20 languages). Sample titles: Us Weekly, The Economist, National Geographic, Chicago Magazine, Cook's Illustrated, New Scientist.

Some titles may appear in more than one service, but each will also have exclusive titles. Each service has an associated app for iOS/Android or can be used via the web browser on your PC/Mac.
