Event Description

More than 7000 people had tickets for the annual Western Electric employee picnic on July 24th, 1915. The excitement and anticipation of that morning would soon despair when the Eastland rolled over in the Chicago River, resulting in Chicago's biggest loss-of-life tragedy. Join the Eastland Disaster Historical Society and the two grand-daughters of survivor Bobbie Aanstad to learn more about the Eastland Disaster and the impact it had on the City of Chicago.

We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals, including individuals with disabilities, to engage fully. To request an accommodation, please call 847.392.0100, text 847.665.1491 or email us at accessibility@ahml.info
