The classic combo of Chicken and waffles is coming to the Makerplace Kitchen! Learn to make this southern classic at home from chef Jamie Gilmore.

Chef Jamie Gilmore is the chef and owner of Lizzy J Corporation in Chicago, Illinois. Her journey began at 6 in Philadelphia, where she learned to cook alongside her grandmother. Throughout her 20+ year career, she has honed her skills to develop a uniquely elevated take on the southern-inspired cuisine of her youth. Cher Jamie's passion for creating memorable moments for each guest fuels her culinary creativity. Lizzy J Cafe has been featured in Chicago Eater, The Chicago Tribune, and Breakfast with Ina. In January 2021 Chef Jamie also appeared as a contestant on the Food Network's 'Supermarket Stakeout'. Her first cookbook, Love is the Difference You Can Taste, was released in March 2023. 

Space is limited. Culinary classes are designed for adults 18+ and limited to one class per month, per Arlington Heights cardholder. Register any time from October 2 at 9 a.m. to  October 3 at 8:59 a.m. to join the lottery for a chance to attend Chicken and Waffles. Individuals will be chosen at random and notified by email on October 3.
